  3. Employees, directors, agents of the Clarens Open, their immediate families, life partners, business and media partners, associates, and anyone directly involved in the planning, execution, management, or marketing of this competition are not eligible to participate or win prizes, including lucky draws.

2. Entries & Teams

  1. Teams registered for the Clarens Open are not permitted to alter their composition after the first tee on the opening day.
  2. Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees must be paid in full for an entry to be confirmed — provisional or unpaid entries will not be considered valid.
  3. Substitutions or withdrawals after the closing date are subject to Committee approval and may be declined at its sole discretion.

3. Format of Play

  2. All participants must play off 85% of their Course Handicap as calculated by the HNA system.
  3. Hybrid or non-standard formats such as mulligans, scramble shots, or any form of score manipulation are strictly prohibited.
  4. All submitted scores must be accurate and verifiable. The Committee will confirm results with respective clubs; however, teams remain responsible for the correctness of their own scores.

4. Rules of Play

  1. The Tournament will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A, as well as any Local Rules published by Clarens Golf & Leisure Estate.
  2. Pace of play guidelines must be respected. Players who unduly delay play may face penalties or disqualification at the discretion of the Committee.
  3. The use of caddies and carts is permitted in accordance with estate and Committee rules.

5. Prizes & Awards

  1. The number and nature of prizes may differ from published information.
  2. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or alternatives. Should a prize or its conditions be refused or not accepted, the Committee reserves the right to select an alternate winner.
  3. In the event of a tie, winners will be determined in accordance with the standard count-out procedure as set by the Committee.
  4. Prize winners consent to the use of their names and photographs in any media, as chosen by the Committee, for the purpose of promoting the competition and its winners.

6. Liability

  1. The Clarens Open Organizing Committee, its business and media partners, suppliers, and associates accept no responsibility for omissions, failures, or delays by third parties in relation to the delivery, quality, or nature of prizes, including draw prizes.
  2. The Committee accepts no liability for any direct, incidental, or consequential losses should the Clarens Open be cancelled or curtailed for reasons beyond its control, including but not limited to inclement weather. No substitute prizes will be offered.

7. Conduct & Compliance

  1. Players must adhere to the estate’s dress code, etiquette, and code of conduct at all times.
  2. The Committee reserves the right to disqualify or reject any participant for non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions, unsportsmanlike conduct, or fraudulent practices.
